Bak kata Arnold Schwarzenegger (nth susah nak sebut nama dier) dalam filem Terminator "I'll be back!". Kata-kata TRADEMARK dia yang buat kita ingat akan orangnya sampai bila-bila.

Well, rasanya dah berzaman tak kembali to my food blog, so as the words above "I'll be BACK"

Cheesy wedges kalah KFC

Cheesy wedges kalah KFC...

Hi semua. Semalam perut kelaparan tetiba teringat kat dapur adalah sebiji kentang, satu paket tepung ayam goreng, satu paket sos jalapeno cheese, dan mayo. Of coz lah sos cili LIFE. wajib tu.

Memang senang sangat kaedahnya.

Tadddaaaa dah siap. Mudah kan? Lepas ni tak payah ke KFC lagi. Selamat Mencuba.

Curry fish in d house.

i woke up at noon today and kept thinking what should i prepare for lunch. and in my mind was i didn't want to eat over portions. since i turned 25, food was all i could think about. even my weight has increased. OH I'M ASHAMED, really i am. even some of my friend told me i gained weight. smack on the FACE* I'm have been weight conscious since my slimmer days. dunno why i didn't notices the changes. only now I've been cutting on a few there and there. and as for today i have lost a few kilograms. thankfully.

so back to cooking. i though today, what about cooking curry. mm.. sounds tasty. even the grumbling sound of hunger in my stomach responds to that. so i cooked a pot of rice in the rice cooker. took out fishes from the feeezer. a few other stuffs from the chiller and now to the mise-en- place.

fish curry
Here's the ingredients.

2 nos of fish - mine was ikan kembong
1 packet of fish curry powder (mix into paste with water)
2 nos shallots - sliced
2 garlic - sliced
1 inch of ginger - julienne
2 nos bird eye chillies
2 red chillies - slice in the middle
curry leaves
mix herbs
water
oil
salt and pepper
sugar

method:
1. heat in a pot, add about 5 tablespoon of oil and then add in the mix herbs, shallots, ginger, bird eye chillies, curry leaves and garlic. fry until fragrance and then add in the curry paste.

2. Let the curry paste cooked for a while until the oil breakouts then add in water. Let it simmer for a while then add in the (optional: add in potatoes, or long beans before the fish) red chillies along with the fish. Let it cook for about 15-20 minutes depends on the size of the fish.

3. Season well and serve with a bowl of hot rice. Enjoy!

Fried Kuey Teow

DSC_0021

Yes hi there!
I wanted to share with all of you my all time favorite dish.
TADAAA..
Fried Kuey Teow... drools.
I am obsessed with kuey teow. I could devour the whole menu that include kuey teow in it.
Kuey teow ladna, kuey teow hailam, kuey teow soup, kuey teow bandung.....and many many more.
Only GOD knows why.
I felt as if the gravy absorb better with kuey teow noddles. Oh so delicious.
Yes believe me its much better. But some prefer yellow noddles over kuey teow which is not a suprise considering the texture and elasticity of yellow noddles is much more than kuey teow.

I LOVE Malay Dishes

The good side of being Malaysia is of course the courtesy of being able to eat delicious food a.k.a home cooking. Oh Im drooling.. especially when the dishes are cooked by your lovely mom. Her special blends of herbs and spices with unconditional love included makes the food a thousand times better than those at the restaurants. Keep licking those fingers y'all. yes of course when you cook the food yourself you have the advantage of being able to consume in a larger portions than you could elsewhere.

A few months ago, with not much to ingredients at home. I managed to pull off a few of simple dishes to accompanied a freshly cooked hot rice. Not only it is easy yet very tempting. Thus I leave you all to devour your lappy or pc or mac with pictures of my so simple dishes.

Before that let me introduce to you what the dishes are:

Firstly, Malaysian favorite not in every countries however.. THE IKAN PEKASAM - fish which marinated in a special blend of tamarind. It is fried and best eaten while hot with friend shallots and bird eye chillies on top.
Secondly, Tempoyak - Perak's favorite accompaniments. Made from durian's which is preserved with salt and sugar. Left a few days before consumed. Usually made into sambal tempoyak which is mixed with pounded chillies and eaten with rice.

Ayam berempah Bujang

My recipe is quite simple

A small packet of kurma powder
A small packet of soup powder
2inch of ginger pounded
2 nos of garlic
a bit of tumeric powder
salt and pepper

marinated for about 15 minutes depends on your preferences and heat up your wok.
then deep fried in a wok of hot oil and best eaten while hot. delicious

Prawn cooked in Sambal Soy

Recipe:
500 gm of prawn
tumeric powder
salt

Firstly , clean the prawn. Then, marinated the prawn with tumeric and salt. Fried until half cooked with little oil in the wok . Put aside

blended dried chillies
shallots and garlic pounded
onion - cut into rings
a bit of belacan or prawn paste
sweet soy sauce
tamarind juice
bird eye chillies (optional)

For the sauce:
Heat wok, add a little bit of vegetable oil. Then add the pounded shallots and garlic when turn almost yellow then add about 2 spoon of blended chillies depends on your taste. If you prefer a bit spicy add more. Then, add the sweet soy sauce and let it simmer a bit. After that, pour 1 tablespoon of tamarind juice and add in the fried prawns. Seasan with salt and pepper and add in the onion rings and if you prefer more spicy add the bird eye chillies.

Tadaa. Thats all for now. Hopefully, you'll love the recipe. TEHEE!

Pak Boh Recipe

Nasi goreng udang

Cappucino

Raspberry longan

The Menu

Another assignment to Johor, this time I went to Kuala Lipis. It was a historical city with only one tall building there. If you want to travel there, I recommend from Monday to Saturday only because on Sunday every shop is closed. That was a suprise for me because I never been to a place where nobody work on Sunday. Luckily, I went there on Thursday and managed to get a bite at Pak Boh Recipe. It was a restaurant with a nature theme and lots of lights. Even the bathroom is renovated to suite the theme. On the first floor, guest could drinks and watch performances from guest artist.

So I try my hand on their nasi goreng udang and raspberry longan mockctail. The fried rice was quite oily and a bit flavorless. However the drinks was nice. Overall the environment was great.

Cold & sweet dessert

ice kacang (ABC)

Cendol

It was a hot and sunny day, before heading to Kuala Lipis. Me and fellow colleagues stopped by at the nearest stall beside Jusco Equine Park to slurp a bowl of ABC and cendol. Cold and Sweet!

Tom Yam@ Pagoh

kailan ikan masin (kailan with salted fish)

tom yam

tom yam

Recently, I went to a part of Malaysian state that I have never venture to which is Johor.
I have been wanting to go to Johor for quite sometimes. At last I could tick off Johor out of list of Places I want go. However there are still many areas in Johor I want to explore. Luckily, I got lots of work to be done in Johor in these 2 months. First assignment send me to Pagoh, Johor. OK, I got to admit I never known this area before so this would be my first that I ever heard a place called Pagoh. It was a small town with lots of 'kampung'. Interesting.. So of course food is one of my thing.. managed to try out Pagoh style Tom Yam. Check em' out.

I say, it was quite dissapointing. The tom yam was lack of paste; should i say flavor-less and quite dull. I was so into the kailan ikan masin (salted fish), because it was so delicious and i just love the saltiness of ikan masin.

and accompanied with fried egg

Yeah, I still got lots more places to venture so I will keep an update.
